DigiShot Plus Features

Some of the major features that make the DigiShot system easy to use and reliable are:

  • Large Blast Capability. The DigiShot Plus electronic initiation system is capable of initiating up to a maximum 1 800 total detonators per blast and up to 15 detonators per hole.

  • Remote Firing. The DigiShot Plus system offers remote firing capability – up to 3 500m line of sight – providing blasters the additional protection of distance.
  • No delay Assignment on the Bench. The blaster simply uses the DigiShot Tagger to tell each detonator its location in the pattern. The system checks the functionality of the detonators. The hole positions are then downloaded into the control equipment for automatic delay assignment.
  • Designing the Blast. The flexible DigiShot Plus system offers a range of choices for timing the blasts. Delays are infinitely variable between 1 ms and 20 seconds. Timing designs can be input into the Bench Box (either before connecting to the blast or on the bench from a point of safety) manually, auto-programmed or downloaded directly with ViewShot.
  • Rugged Reliability. The over-extruded detonator downline and robust connector ensure reliable communication between the DigiShot Plus Electronic Detonator, Bench Box and Tagger. All DigiShot Plus components are water resistant, ESD resistant and RF resistant. Cable abrasion and cutting resistance all pass CEN TS13763-27, the European Standards of Compliance for Electronic Detonators.
  • Completely Testable. The The DigiShot Plus Tagger is an inherently safe, hand-held tool used to assigned each hole location and at the same time used to test individual detonators, part of a pattern or the entire circuit before leaving the bench.

Digishot Plus Electronic Initiation System Components

The DigiShot Plus electronic initiation system components are:

  • The DigiShot Plus Electronic Detonator

    The DigiShot Plus Electronic Detonator is a 2-wire programmable precision initiation device. The detonator shell is copper and fits in a standard booster. The timing accuracy is +/- 1 millisecond for blast durations of less than 5 seconds.

    The DigiShot Plus connector is a small, transparent, rugged and water resistant connector with finger-friendly grippers for ease of use. A specially developed gel ensures leakage-free connections without messy greasy leaks.

  • The DigiShot Plus CE4 Tagger

    The DigiShot Plus CE4 Tagger is an inherently safe, portable device that is used to test DigiShot Plus detonators and assign locations to detonators.

  • The DigiShot Plus Bench Box

    The DigiShot Plus Bench Box is the receiver unit that allows for remote firing. It is positioned up to 500 meters away from the blast. The Bench Box receives the firing command from the Base Station and passes the required voltage and dedicated signal on to the detonators in order to initiate the blast. There are six channels to attach the two-wire lead to the detonators on the blast and each channel can accommodate 300 detonators.

  • The DigiShot Plus Base Station

    The DigiShot Plus Base Station is placed at a point of safety and used in conjunction with the DigiShot Smart key to allow for initiation of the blast. The Base Station links to the Bench Box via a secure and encrypted radio frequency up to 3 500 meters away. For security purposes the unit will require a unique password to activate the blasting procedures. In a synchronised mode one DigiShot Plus Base Station can control a maximum of four Bench Boxes.

  • The DigiShot Smart key

    The DigiShot Plus Smart key must be docked in the DigiShot Plus control equipment to initiate the blast. The Smart key is password protected for safety reasons.

  • The RF Repeater

    When the line of sight (LOS) to the DigiShot Plus Bench Box is restricted, the repeater can be used to bounce the signal to the Bench Boxes that is not line of sight.
